Volunteer and internship opportunities with Engage Globally

We have a wide variety of virtual (online) volunteer and internship opportunities available. Volunteer commitments range from a few hours to as long as you have available. Internships are unpaid (as we are an entirely volunteer organization), but we are happy to help interns earn academic credit for their experiences. Most interns work 15 hours per week in the fall/spring and 20 hours per week in the summer. Interns support the general work of Engage Globally but also contribute to a projects designed to match your academic and professional interests. Interns and volunteers receive guidelines via email and access materials on Google Drive. If you are interested in helping, please email us anytime.

Examples of volunteer projects
  • Creation of resource lists  such as identifying and describing children's books on nature or researching animals and birds. We have many needs in this category. In most cases, ten hours of volunteer time makes a significant contribution to these projects.
  • Inclusion resource gathering and publication - with a focus on environmental programs, resources, and opportunities for under-represented groups.
  • Crowd funding and fundraising - we are especially looking for individuals willing to donate their birthdays, conduct one time social media fundraisers, or who are interested in promoting Engage in association with their own skills and creativity, such as voluntary donations for yoga classes.
  • Creation of short video clips about our projects, using existing photos
  • Photo editing
  • English to Spanish translation
  • Graphic design and layout
  • Social media messaging
  • Research into sustainable development and environmental conservation
  • Environmental education lesson and material design
  • Children's book illustrations, environmental education drawings

Opportunities for younger children, with adult guidance
If you have a younger child who would like to help, we are also in need of a variety of children's art on environmental themes. This art will be used in future environmental education materials and guides. We also need children to 'try out' and provide feedback on some of our environmental education activities.
